Measured Gains
Now in Beta

Progress you can measure.

A dedicated coach, AI that teaches by asking questions, and a record of every step your child takes.

The problem

Most programs start teaching before they know anything.

  • Report cards often hide real gaps. A student with good grades can be years behind in the skills that matter.
  • Most tutoring and AI apps start teaching without finding out where your child actually is.
  • AI chatbots hand kids answers, so they learn nothing.
  • Tutoring fails between sessions, when no one knows if practice actually happens.

The model

Assess → Coach → Practice → Measure

A loop, not a line. Measurement feeds straight back into coaching.

Assess01

Start with the truth.

A baseline finds exactly where your child is, including gaps from earlier grades, plus a confidence check in each subject. Most tutoring and AI apps skip this step. We never do.

Coach02

A plan built around your child.

Your coach builds the plan around your child's own goals and works with them live on a shared digital whiteboard, even from a distance.

Practice03

Questions, not answers.

Between sessions, AI tutoring that asks questions and guides your child to think it through, in short focused blocks. Every practice session is logged and reviewed by your coach.

Measure04

Proven by someone other than us.

Monthly reports, and a retest every 90 days using independent, nationally normed tests alongside our own assessments.

After Measure, the loop returns to Coach — the plan is rewritten with what the retest showed.

Why a human coach

The AI is the engine. The coach is the difference.

AI can teach a concept. It can't make a teenager care, notice when a child is overwhelmed, or hold them to a goal. Your coach does.

The 90-Day Measured Program

What's included

Start with a Free Baseline Assessment

Practice that actually happens.

Every session is logged and reviewed, so nothing slips between coaching sessions.

You get to be the parent.

Your coach holds the standards, so home stays home.

Progress before test scores.

Confidence checks show growth early, before grades catch up.

A record that grows with them.

Every session is saved, so you can see months of progress, not one test.

Coach note

Fractions are no longer the roadblock — we closed two grade levels of gaps in ten weeks. Confidence in math moved from a 3 to a 7, and it shows in how quickly she starts a hard problem now. Next 30 days: ratios and early algebra.

For high schoolers

SAT, ACT, and AP

A score goal set on day one, a study plan built backward from test day, practice targeted at the exact skills holding the score back, and a coach who keeps the plan on track through test day.

For student-athletes

Built for families with more ambition than free time.

Short, focused sessions that fit around training and competition, with a coach who keeps grades and test scores on track.

In-person when it matters

Some students do better with a person in the room.

Most coaching happens online. Families in Southern California — Newport Beach, Long Beach, and Orange County — can add in-home support for hands-on help, focus, and accountability.

Where this actually got built.

Our own kids are the first students.

Measured Gains is in beta with our own family. Founder Sean Plotkin's children are the first students, so every part of the program is proven at our own kitchen table before it reaches yours.

I built this for my own kids first, for one simple reason: if I wouldn't trust it with them, I won't ask you to trust it with yours. Every practice log, every report, every weekly check — my three went through it before your family ever sees it.
